MASCARELLO TO DELIVER 1,200 SCHOOL BUSES IN BRAZIL
Body manufacturer Mascarello in Brasil announced that it will make 1,200 minibuses available for the Brazillian Federal Government's Caminho da Escola program. According to the Paraná manufacturer from the city of Cascavel, production in the coming months will increase, even with the market crisis caused by the Covid-19 pandemic.
The minibuses are a new development of the constructor, designed to meet the requirements of the National Fund for the Development of Education (FNDE), for the transport of students in difficult areas in the interior of Brazil.
The body was developed from the Gran Micro S3 model specifically for a school version. The model complies with the ORE 2 category - Rural school bus and will be mounted on the Iveco 10-190 chassis that can reach 9 meters in length and a 4,800mm wheelbase. Its 4-cylinder in-line engine produces 190HP and 610 Nm torque.
The buses are developed for rural application in severe conditions. They must also be adapted for school transport capable of carrying up to 44 passengers and fully accessible, as they have a lifting mechanism to allow the boarding of people with reduced mobility.
