The International Bus & Coach of the Year award board, together with the magazine Rolling Tons, the Hungarian jury's representative, announces that Székesfehérvár, a town just outside Budapest (Hungary), will host the "Bus Euro Test 2026 – Intercity Edition" from June 1st to 5th. It will be the first time the International Jury is organising an "Intercity Bus Edition" of the esteemed Bus Euro Test.
The winner of the ‘Bus of the Year 2027 – Intercity Edition’ title will be honored during a ceremony to be held on the evening of November 24th, 2026, in Rimini (Italy) during the opening day of IBE - Intermobility Future Ways 2026 (organised by Italian Exhibition Group S.p.A.), which will host the awards ceremony for the first time. To participate in this four day event, manufacturers can enroll their intercity buses if they are in series production at the moment of the
test; when it is a new model or an updated one not older than 4 years; the minimum length is 10 meters. All types of driveline are allowed. The testing days will consist of technical tests, driving test through the Hungarian country side, presentation and explanation of the vehicles. Founded in 1984, the Bus and Coach of the Year Jury is an independent non-profit organisation, driven by a team of experienced bus and coach journalists from 23 European countries.
