DAF Components presents a mild-hybrid solution for buses and coaches at Busworld 2025 in Hall 6, booth 619. The new PACCAR MX-11 and MX-13 engine series will also be on display. The mild-hybrid solution is developed in collaboration with Driventic, formerly Voith, and has already been successfully implemented in 110 city buses for public transport in Rome. The powertrain consists of a PACCAR MX engine and a robust mild-hybrid gearbox with an electric motor.
The mild-hybrid solution increases fuel efficiency by up to 15 percent, thanks in part to a Start-Stop system. The PACCAR MX-11 (220 kW/299 hp to 330 kW/449 hp) and PACCAR MX-13 (315 kW/428 hp to 390 kW/530 hp) engines can also run on HVO biodiesel. DAF claims that the new PACCAR MX-11 and MX-13 engines are extremely quiet and vibration-free. An electric axle for future electric powertrains will also be presented.
