Daimler Buses is presenting for the very first time the new eIntouro to the public at Busworld at its stand 503 in hall 5. With this premiere, Daimler is honouring its pledge to demonstrate its innovative strength. The eIntouro is the first battery-electric intercity coach from the manufacturer with the three-pointed star. In addition, Daimler is also showcasing the new NMC4 battery generation in the Mercedes-Benz eCitaro and a host of innovations on electromobility, safety and sustainability.
Together with the eIntouro Daimler Buses is exhibiting a total of eight Mercedes-Benz and Setra buses. Although the trade press had a sneak preview of this new electric intercity bus last year, it is now time for the bus minded public at Busworld to step into this new battery electric intercity bus or even perhaps get behind the wheel. Daimler is also presenting new services from the Omniplus service brand.
The new Mercedes-Benz eIntouro is based on the familiar diesel-powered Intouro but has a battery-electric drive with LFP batteries and central motor. The purpose of the new eIntouro can be found in interurban routes, school buses, shuttle buses and excursion routes, as well as for shorter long-haul trips. Two lengths are available: the 12.18-metre eIntouro and the 13.09-metre eIntouro M. Software updates can be installed in the eIntouro “over the air” without a workshop visit, a new service from Omniplus.
