The Austrian public transport company Dr. Richard Group has taken delivery of 36 new IVECO BUS CROSSWAY Low Entry buses, which will operate on routes in Burgenland. Designed to meet the requirements of regional transport, these vehicles will strengthen public transport in the region. The buses were officially inaugurated during a ceremony at the company’s Oberwart site, attended by representatives from government, business, the media, partners and employees of the Dr. Richard Group.
With this investment in 36 new CROSSWAY Low Entry vehicles, the Dr. Richard Group has chosen for an intercity bus, which celebrates its 20th anniversary this year. Iveco Bus state the CROSSWAY model has been specifically designed to meet the requirements of regional mobility. Each of the 36 new CROSSWAY Low Entry vehicles offers up to 46 seats, 25 standing places and one wheelchair space. Their Low Entry configuration facilitates boarding through the front section of the vehicle. The buses are powered by a 265 kW (360 hp) diesel engine and features safety and driver assistance systems. With this new fleet, the Dr. Richard Group confirms its long-term investment strategy in efficient and attractive regional mobility, further enhancing the quality of public transport in Burgenland. “Technology alone is not enough to guarantee efficient scheduled services: this requires the shared commitment of all stakeholders,” said Ing. Siegfried Tanczos, Managing Director of the Dr. Richard Group, during the event. “The entry into service of these intercity vehicles marks a new step forward for safe, reliable and comfortable scheduled services in Burgenland.”
