MAN and NEOPLAN coaches are set to introduce a range of new features for model year 2024, focusing on advancements in technology, digitalization, and safety.
Key Highlights
The new electronics platform features a higher performance with a new Central Vehicle Manager (CVM) that improves computing processes and functionality. The digital cockpits, which have been awarded the "Busworld Digital Award," set new benchmarks in the operating concept. The enhanced assistance systems now include radar-supported turn assist and lane change support (LCS), while the new brake and air suspension systems offer more functionalities and improved performance. Additionally, the MAN D26 coach engines and EfficientCruise gearshift program have been updated for better efficiency and compliance with new regulations.
What's new?
1. The range includes proven buses and coaches such as the NEOPLAN Tourliner, MAN Lion’s Coach, and MAN Lion’s City models, all revamped to comply with EU 2019/2144 General Safety Regulation (GSR) and UNECE regulations R155 and R156. The new digital cockpit features the SmartSelect control unit with an ergonomic design, offering a large 12-inch color display with HD resolution for optimal information transfer.
2. Safety and assistance systems have been significantly enhanced. MAN SafeStop Assist automatically brakes the vehicle if the driver is inactive, and radar-supported turn assist and lane change support enhance safety. The collision warning system and Emergency Brake Assist (EBA+) with pedestrian detection ensure safer urban driving, while Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) with Traffic Jam Assist provides comfort in traffic.
3. The new climate control center offers car-like comfort, and the MMC Advanced infotainment system includes features like Bluetooth, USB-C, and Wi-Fi for Wireless Apple CarPlay. The new Vehicle Air Suspension Control (VASC) system allows faster kneeling and precise vehicle lowering, and the new electronic brake system (EBS9) and electronic parking brake improve safety and convenience.
4. The new MAN D26 coach engine offers increased power and reduced fuel consumption, and the EfficientCruise 3 gearshift program further reduces fuel consumption with predictive driving strategies. MAN and NEOPLAN buses continue to innovate, providing enhanced comfort, safety, and efficiency for drivers, passengers, and operators.
