First order for airport buses for Ebusco

17 August 2023

Ebusco has signed a two-year framework with Fraport (Frankfurt Airport) This framework includes a fixed order of 4 Ebusco 3.0 12-metre buses and 4 buses of the same model in option. Proudly Ebusco states “this marks Ebusco’s first-ever order in the aerospace sector”.

With this order Ebusco adds positive news to the earlier announced half year results. The Dutch company reported a loss of 35.8 million euros. Revenue over the first half of 2023 arrived at 41.7 million euros. But also the bus manufacturer reported an increase in the orderbook with 320 buses (net) to a level of 1,794 units, of which 677 Ebusco 3.0 increased by 4 with this order from Fraport. The newly ordered 3.0 buses will have three doors, low floor and a battery pack of >250 kWh. According to Ebusco due to its composite construction, this bus configuration can drive with the smallest battery pack

available, up to 350 km on a single charge, suitable for day-to-day airport operation. The Fraport buses will feature a layout specifically designed for efficient airport transportation. Despite the results over the first half of 2023 Ebusco expects to record a significant improvement in the operating result for the second half of 2023 compared to the first half of the year and a significant increase in sales over the full year 2023 compared to 2022. In 2024, the company expects to be EBITDA positive.
