The program - 4 sessions

Bus & Coach in Next Generation Mobility Concepts

Focussing on all digitally supported and/or executed public transport concepts, that propels public transport into the next level, whether it is urban- or long distance. Leaving fixed and written scheduled sometimes under or oversized buses behind and entering the era of easy to use and smooth mobility, that is planned on the spot and is most efficient and thus sustainable.

Speakers will showcase MaaS concepts, digital ticketing platforms, digitally coordinated multimodal public transport, transport-on-demand systems, booking concepts incorporating bus services in door-to-door services, payment systems for multimodal services, …

Digital Operation Excellence via Telematics

Vehicles are tracked and traced, technical status and health are even remotely controlled and activated. Ridership and driver behaviour is monitored. Immediate intervention is made possible if needed. Route optimalisation is introduced. Cost savings, quality improvement and sustainability goals are targeted.

Specific topics are predictive maintenance, mobility network management (MNM), safety & comfort improving tools, management control & optimization, …

Digitally Enhanced Driving: ADAS & Automation

From the implementation of ADAS over automated driving towards autonomous bus services. This session will bring testimonials from first deployment of autonomous buses on public roads, seen through the eyes of the PTA & PTO, the bus manufacturer and the technology providers. What are incentives to implement driverless buses? What difficulties were encountered? What needs to be solved? How do OEMs and technology providers collaborate? How does the passenger respond? Etc.

Smart Energy Management When Deploying Electric Buses

The implementation of electric buses allow for a more significant control of the energy costs by the operator. Other than the diesel price, the price for electricity fluctuates from minute to minute. The time of charging the vehicles, including own electricity production or implementing stationary electricity storage will have a decisive effect on the energy cost of a bus operator. Taking the planning, timing and route schedules of the buses into account to calculate the energy needs for the day, and choosing the right energy source (grid, battery, own production) each minute of the charging process, becomes a complicated process. Smart Energy Management Systems will have a very important role in this. Bus companies who best control their energy consumption will be in the lead to win tenders.
