Hidral, a Spanish company specialising in lifting and accessibility solutions, has acquired 100% of the British company Passenger Lift Solutions (PLS), manufacturer of wheelchair lifts for accessible passenger vehicles. The transaction forms part of the Hidral Group’s international growth strategy, reinforces its position in the accessible mobility sector and expands its capabilities in specialised solutions for passenger vehicles.
The acquisition also strengthens Hidral’s position in transport accessibility through Hidral Gobel, a Group company specialising in accessibility solutions for road transport. The complementary expertise of PLS and Hidral Gobel will enhance the Group’s value proposition across different vehicle types and applications, creating a broader and more specialised platform to support continued international growth. The transaction reflects Hidral Group’s long-term strategy of expanding internationally through the integration of specialised companies that complement its experience, according to the Spanish company. Fabio Sgardi, CEO of Hidral Gobel, said: “The combination of Hidral Gobel’s experience in bus ramps, coach lifts
and private vehicle adaptations with PLS’s specialisation in wheelchair lifts for microbuses and minibuses opens up a very promising framework for collaboration.” PLS will continue to operate as an independent company under its current name, with its existing management team remaining responsible for day-to-day operations. For customers and partners, this continuity will ensure stability across all areas of the business, including product quality, service, technical support and after-sales care. Adam Beck, Managing Director of Passenger Lift Solutions, also highlighted the strategic value of the integration: “PLS has been selected by Hidral because of our track record as a UK market leader in the M2 sector.”
