The HÜBNER Group, a global and established supplier to bus manufacturers, is presenting several new innovative products and solutions.
First innovation: the direct information on the window glass. Up-to-date, clearly visible travel information is essential for public transport passengers. Even with the use of smartphone apps, the demand for direct on-board information remains high. Transparent holographic displays provide information such as arrival and departure times directly in the passengers’ field of vision. The holographic technology is integrated directly into the window glass, allowing content to be projected easily and very flexibly. This technology requires less space and less energy than conventional solutions such as OLED screens, while still delivering high image resolution, and thanks to their direct integration into the windows they are optimally protected against vandalism, for example.
A second novelty is a lighter articulation unit, the HNGK 28.2, for articulated buses. The innovative concept meets the requirements posed by the continuous growth of electromobility. Thanks to advanced casting materials and a 42% weight optimisation, it stands out for improved ground clearance for low-floor buses. Less weight means room for more batteries and a higher passenger capacity. The articulation control unit ACU4 of the latest generation meets all functional and cybersecurity requirements.
Bellows fabric
A third unveiling is the new bellows fabric for articulation systems. The innovative Ecoflex fabric offers greater fire safety, but also high durability and insulation. In combination with a newly developed inner bellows, Ecoflex also stands out for its thermal and acoustic insulation properties, which at the same time optimise noise levels and energy consumption. Lighting elements integrated directly into the bellows increase passenger comfort and sense of safety.
Another product innovation that HÜBNER is presenting in collaboration with ZEISS Microoptics is the Holo-Button – a contactless sensor surface for opening bus and train doors. This function is not only visually striking, but also highly user-friendly and improves both hygiene and passenger comfort. At Busworld Europe, well worth a visit. Hall 7, stand 755.
