Irizar introduces two new electric buses

Irizar Group is unveiling at Busworld two new state-of-the-art electric buses from its Efficient range: a new-generation Irizar ie bus and the brand-new Irizar i3 Normal Floor, both 100% electric buses.

Once again, Irizar Group is present at the international Busworld exhibition with its multi-technology buses and coaches from the Efficient range, along with many other innovations—all designed to promote the decarbonization of the transport sector.

Irizar and Irizar e-mobility are presenting a complete range of Efficient-series buses, which includes urban and intercity models as well as long-distance coaches: the new generation of the Irizar ie bus, the new 100% electric Irizar i3 Normal Floor Class II, two Irizar i6S Efficient units, and one Irizar i8. This entire range has been designed to offer comprehensive, complementary solutions suited to every type of operation, meeting today’s mobility challenges.

New Irizar i3 Normal Floor – 100% electric Efficient

The new electric Irizar i3 Normal Floor features a completely cutting-edge design, maximizing both passenger capacity and luggage space. With a more aggressive front end and more pronounced lines, it blends in with the rest of the Irizar vehicle range. This Normal Floor vehicle is designed entirely for a sustainable future in intercity transport: silent and zero-emission.

The electric Irizar i3 Normal Floor offers a luggage capacity of over 7 m³, as well as overhead storage compartments inside. The total luggage space depends on the vehicle’s length and configuration. This new model incorporates lighter and stronger materials, resulting in a weight reduction of 1,000 kg. It stands out for its range, offering over 450 km on a single daily charge, ensuring smooth operation for operators.

The vehicle complies with the strictest safety standards under the new GSR2 regulation, integrating advanced components such as cameras and radars to guarantee driver and passenger safety. It also meets European standards R155 and R156 on cybersecurity management and vehicle software updates, ensuring that systems function as intended and mitigating potential security risks. A major innovation is that the Irizar i3 Normal Floor complies with the R29 standard, improving protection for the driver and passengers in the event of a frontal collision—a standard already implemented across the rest of Irizar’s vehicle lineup.

Additionally, the vehicle’s electronic architecture enables data analysis for diagnostics and preventive maintenance. Similarly, the electrical unit and fuses have been installed in the driving zone, making them easier to access and improving safety for maintenance technicians when working on the road.
