Karsan to deliver 22 e-ATA 12m to Romania

Karsan signed a new delivery agreement with Romania, one of the largest markets for Karsan. The Turkish manufacturer announced it received an order for 22 units of the e-ATA 12m electric buses to the Municipality of Constanța. This has a special importance for Türkiye, because Karsan expects to double its electric bus fleet in Romania to a total of 525 units by the end of this year.

Ata means "elders of the family" in Turkish, Karsan e-ATA stands out as the largest bus of the brand. With its innate electric structure, e-ATA offers battery options ranging from 150 kWh to 600 kWh allow the e-ATA to offer a range of up to 450 kilometres charging of between 1 and 4 hours thanks to fast charging technology. Stating that Karsan exported their first electric vehicles to Romania, CEO Okan Baş said: "For this reason, Romania has a special importance for us. As of today, this figure will increase rapidly in a short time in Romania, where we serve with our 285 vehicles, almost doubling. With this agreement we signed with Constanța, and the delivery of

our other recently won tender agreements, we expect our total number of electric vehicles in the country to reach 525 units by the end of this year. Our strong cooperation with our Romanian distributor AAR (Anadolu Automobile Rom) has a great share in this success. Our goal is to have the largest electric public transport fleet in Romania by 2025 and we continue to make great strides on this path". With the order from the Municipality of Constanta Karsan states it will thus start providing services in 49 different locations of the country. Constanța is one of the most important tourism cities of Romania.
