Lithuanian-based company Altas Auto, manufacturer of small and medium-sized buses, has a new CEO: Ignas Pranskevičius, a strategic management and leadership expert. He succeeds Edvardas Radzevičius, the company's founder, who led the business for 23 years. The change in leadership comes at a strategic moment where in Altas Auto expect further growth internationally and expansion of its portfolio.
Altas Auto currently produces 14 bus models for urban, intercity, tourism, and specialized needs, offering Europe’s largest selection of electric mini and midi buses. Annually Altas Auto manufactures over 700 buses sold in various European markets such as Scandinavia, the UK, Germany, France, the Netherlands, Switzerland and Spain. Last year Altas Auto unveiled the Altas Novus City V7, a compact but spacious electric bus tailored for European markets. At just 7.5 meters long, it accommodates up to 35 passengers and is ideal for navigating narrow city streets. The Novus City V7 offers a range of up to 309 kilometres on a single charge.
“This year, we will further expand our electric bus lineup. Leveraging our engineering expertise, we plan to enter the maxi bus market in Scandinavia and introduce an 8-meter, 55-passenger green bus for Western Europe. Early interest in these new models is strong among private operators and large state-owned companies in major EU countries,” says Ignas Pranskevičius. He sees his joining of Altas Auto as both a recognition and an honor. “This transition comes as the company prepares for another growth surge, requiring immense focus. However, I am reassured by the strong and sustainable foundation we are building upon.” Before joining Altas Auto, Pranskevičius spent five years as Executive Director and Board Member of the PRO BRO Group, where he and his team transformed the Lithuanian company into an international corporation and Europe’s fastest-growing car wash network. “International expansion is not a new challenge for me. We will apply sustainable growth practices to further Altas Auto’s development”, says Pranskevičius. Altas Auto was founded in 2002 by Edvardas Radzevičius and Edmund Lisovski and has at the end of last year established a board comprising company shareholders Edvardas Radzevičius, Edmund Lisovski, and Rolandas Gudelis, along with independent expert Vaida Bilotė. The board is chaired by management and governance expert Dalia Andrulionienė. Altas Auto is partner of Mercedes-Benz, MAN en Zhongtong.
