More Themes, More Content

“The congress program at Busworld Europe is taking a big leap forward,” says Jan Deman, executive director of Busworld Foundation. “Policymakers, manufacturers, and operators are brought together each time to compile a realistic picture of the issues at hand”.

“At Busworld Europe 2023, we met representatives from the Directorate-General for Mobility and Transport (DG Move) of the European Commission. This led to a collaboration aimed at building greater synergy and achieving closer cooperation between all stakeholders. On the one hand, we want to avoid the creation of regulations that are unworkable in practice. On the other, we want to fully brief policymakers on technological developments so they can craft feasible regulations,” Deman explains.
“To support this, advisory boards were set up to review the content of each congress theme. They outlined which aspects should be addressed and how they could be developed.”

Six Tracks

Six congress tracks have been developed: the socio-economic importance of the bus sector, digital mobility, safety, long-distance bus services and the future of the coach, bus management for local and regional authorities, zero-emission bus transport. Entry to the congress and sessions on Monday, October 6th, and Tuesday, October 7th is included in the Busworld admission ticket, provided that participants register in advance. Admission also includes entry to the adjacent networking zone. The conference on Wednesday and Thursday will require an additional fee.

“In total, there will be around forty sessions spread across the six themes,” notes Jan Deman. “More than 300 speakers have confirmed their attendance, including around twenty from the European Commission. Content-wise, it is a strong program unlike any previous edition.”

On Monday, October 6th, Busworld Foundation will present the European Start-up Prize for Mobility. The following evening, on Tuesday, October 7th, there will be a networking dinner that requires prior registration. Throughout the congress days, various delegations from national and international authorities will attend the congress and visit Busworld Europe.
