The Norwegian Minister from Transport, Mr. Jon-Ivar Nygård, came to Busworld to advocate amendments to the General Safety Regulation 2, for better protection of the drivers in case of frontal collisions. His arguments were heard by the European Commission, represented by Karl Nicklas, Head of Unit at DG GROW and by Mrs. Graziella Jost, program director at the European Transport Safety Council. The GSR2 will be evaluated by the Commission in 2027, so the Busworld Congress 2025 was the right time and place to introduce topics for amendation. Redgy Deschacht, president of Busworld, welcomed the minister.
