Otokar, a Koç Group company, has taken a strategic step in line with its European growth targets by opening a branch of its subsidiary, Otokar Europe SAS in Germany. With this latest addition to the Otokar organization, the Turkish bus manufacturer is expanding its presence in Europe to 'support its successful growth across the continent'. "Our ultimate goal is to rank among Europe’s top 5 players.”
With this new branche office in Germany Otokar continues to accelerate its expansion efforts in Europe. Following the incorporation of Otokar Italia last year through the acquisition of the 101-year-old Mauri Bus System, and the already established subsidiaries in France and Romania, Otokar now solidifies its European presence further with the opening of its branch in Germany. In the Benelux Otokar is since many years represented by AM Buses. Kerem Erman, Head of Otokar Commercial Vehicles, noted that Otokar has taken another significant step towards its European growth targets in the bus sector, “To support our efforts to drive our success in Europe, our primary market for commercial vehicles, we are taking strategic
steps. Germany is a major European market, home to global brands, making entry quite challenging. The opening of our branch in Germany is part of our organizational structuring plans for key European markets, particularly with our new zero-emission product range.” Stating that Otokar continues to maintain its place among Europe's leading bus manufacturers, Erman continued: “Our investments are ongoing to create the largest plant operating under a single roof in Europe. Today we have a broad range of buses from 6 meters to 21 meters and are offering made-to-order vehicles. Ultimately, we aim to rank among the top 5 bus manufacturers in Europe.”
