The installation of a ready-to-use charging infrastructure for the Walloon public transport company TEC in the city of Liège will be a major project for Reeload, a Belgian company specialising in the electrification of businesses.
Reeload operates from Bornem in Flanders. Launched just five years ago, this company already has several remarkable achievements to its name. It was the first company to build the fast-charging station for public transport in the city of Luxembourg, where buses are supplied via around thirty pantographs. A new site is Mobi'Park, from the transport company TEC. It will be a site with fifty charging stations in the first phase. Later, there will be a hundred. This project is part of the major overhaul of public transport in the Liège region.
“We are starting from a bare plot of land. From the groundwork to the final completion with the necessary charging infrastructure, from the high-voltage cabin to the plug-in connector, Reeload is responsible for the entire installation. We can both supply the equipment and assist the client in designing their company site,” says Dorian Van Doorslaer, sales engineer who was involved from the start of the company.
Reeload assists companies that are electrifying their fleets and installing batteries for production or energy buffering. The company is mainly active in the Benelux region. “There’s a lot involved. Fire safety, in particular, is a major issue. Most charging installations are placed outdoors. If they must be installed indoors, there are strict requirements that significantly increase the cost, such as the use of fire-resistant materials. The regulations on this are not always clear,” says the sales engineer.
Maintenance is essential to ensure the proper functioning of the infrastructure. “Our strength also lies in the systematic inspection of equipment. With 35 employees, we are able to deliver fast service,” adds Dorian Van Doorslaer.
