Scania guarantees quality bodywork builders

12 October 2023

Scania premieres the Scania Castrosua LE 4×2 manufactured by the Spanish coachbuilder of the same name. The project is an example of the new partnership model in which Scania chose to stop building its own vehicles.

From now on, the Swedish company focuses on engines and chassis and leaves bodywork manufacturing to carefully selected companies. When they build a vehicle approved by Scania, Scania also takes full responsibility for it. Bodywork builders are evaluated on criteria relating to the quality of production, their commitment to the environment and to employment and human rights. When Scania approves a vehicle, the bodywork builder can market it on the entire European market through Scania, and customers can rely on Scania's after-sales service and technical support. Such cooperation agreement is in place with Higer and Irizar for coaches and is now being set up for the electric Scania Castrosua.
