German coach operator Hermann Hock GmbH, has received a modern and luxerious Setra S 516 HDH in historic design. The new coach marks the family-owned company’s 70th anniversary next year and this year's 75th anniversary of the Setra brand. The modern high-deck coach recalls a historic S 12 from the Series 10 model range through its exterior design.
The S 12 coach from the historic Series 10 model range has been owned by the family business for 20 years and is still used for special events today. Hermann Hock GmbH was founded in 1957 through the acquisition of the Goldstein bus company. The family-owned company took delivery of its first new touring coach in 1960, a Setra S 10 from the Series 10 model range. Today, the company, which is based in the Main-Spessart district northwest of Würzburg, operates a fleet of 42 Setra vehicles. The new TopClass S 516 HDH will be used,
among other things, for trips offered through the company’s own travel program throughout Europe. On its first trip, it took a travel group to Tuscany and the island of Elba. The S 516 HDH is equipped with a glass roof and offers 51 passengers comfortable seats with adjustable comfort headrests. In addition, the three-axle coach features all current driver assistance and safety systems that Daimler Buses currently offers. These include 360-degree cameras as well as the MirrorCam.
Seventy-five years have passed since the presentation of the first self-supporting Setra S 8 touring coach. The vehicle’s unveiling in 1951 marked the beginning of the Setra success story, which continues to this day. Over the past 75 years, the brand has set benchmarks in European bus manufacturing with a total of six model series and has helped shape and advance the industry.
