03 August 2023

Ebusco reports it has signed a new contract with Stadtwerke München (SWM) for the delivery of 28 Ebusco 3.0 18-metre buses to the city's public transport operator Münchner Verkehrsgesellschaft (MVG). MVG already has Ebusco 2.2 and 3.0 buses in operation.

SWM has ordered the low-floor articulated buses with a battery pack of 500 kWh. SWM can expects the buses to cover some 60,000 km per year, good for savings of at least 55,000 kilograms of CO2 and more than 90,000 grams of nitrogen per bus annually. The Ebusco 3.0 experienced its world premiere in the Bavarian capital. The first Ebusco 3.0 has been running for over a year and a half on line 100 in Munich’s city centre. According to Ebusco the energy consumption

of the 3.0 12-metre proves to be over 30 per cent lower compared to its predecessor the Ebusco 2.2 articulated. The Ebusco 3.0 18-metre is 5 tonnes lighter than the Ebusco 2.2 18-metre. Peter Bijvelds, CEO of Ebusco, comments: “In the past years, we have worked closely with SWM as an innovation partner, for example for the development of our lightweight construction and prototyping of platooning buses.”
