Over a year ago Spanish coach builder Sunsundegui went bankrupt. Now a public auction is organised for its intellectual assets such as coach designs, patents, brand identity, industrial property but also the aftersales unit. The insolvency administrators have awarded the auction to auction house Surus to take place via its website Escapralia.
Sunsundegui coach designs, patents and aftersales are up for auction, it are the most valuable intellectual and operational assets from the former Spanish coach builder. A step by the administrators which also could open the door to restart production of the SB3, SC5 and SC7 series under new management. The auction contains three lots: brands and digital assets, patents and industrial property and the aftersales unit with its technical assistance unit (SAT). For the SB3, SC5 and SC7 coach ranges, the winner will gain all technical drawings to enable integration of those designs into production lines immediately, as the auctioneers claim, including those for the very
outspoken protected designs of the exterior and interior of the coach bodies and safety structures and structures certified to safety standards such as R66 rollover protection. Accompanied by full guarantees of validity, including a commitment to provide renewed title deeds for a 10-year cycle. The aftersales unit is described by Surus as “a revenue generating business unit from day one” and includes contracts with authorized workshops, technical documentation, multiplex circuit diagrams, the electronic spare parts catalogue and stocks of original spare parts. This should enable direct support for the Sunsundegui vehicles used throughout Europe.
