German bus and coach operator Geldhauser Linien- und Reiseverkehr GmbH & Co, is rejuvenating its fleet with ten new low-entry buses, S 515 LE, from the Setra MultiClass range. Nine vehicles, equipped with 45 seats, will operate on various routes in the district of Starnberg on behalf of Münchner Verkehrs- und Tarifverbund GmbH (MVV). A further low-floor bus, equipped with 43 seats and an extended special-use area, will be deployed as part of the Alpenbus fleet.
All ten S 515 LE vehicles are equipped with the latest driver assistance and safety features from Daimler Buses. Among other systems, the two-axle buses feature Sideguard Assist 2. The safety assistance system supports drivers on both sides of the vehicle in critical turning situations where visibility may be restricted. It helps detect moving obstacles within the system's limits when turning or changing lanes and warns the driver accordingly. For the first time, the express bus routes operated by Geldhauser will directly connect the regions
south of Munich with the towns of Murnau, Penzberg, Bad Tölz, Miesbach, and Rosenheim along the Alpine corridor, eliminating the need to travel via the metropolitan area. Geldhauser Linien- und Reiseverkehr GmbH & Co was founded in 1962. The company based in the city Hofolding operates a fleet of 890 vehicles, ranging from accessible minibuses to luxury coaches for its own travel program. In addition to MVV, many municipalities, companies, associations, and schools are among Geldhauser’s customers.
