UNVI’S C26 CONCEPT BUS

When a city ride becomes an experience

The Unvi C26 concept bus, unveiled at Busworld, received an honorable mention from the Busworld design jury. Although, not yet in production, it is a city bus that immediately invites you to step aboard.

The Spanish coachbuilder Unvi, celebrating its 30th anniversary, presents an iconic, innovative, and attractive design with its new lightweight C26 city bus. With this avant-garde concept, Unvi showcases an interior design that turns even an ordinary city ride into an experience. The Busworld jury described Unvi’s proposal as an innovative approach that could make public transport more appealing to people who currently use cars.

The choice of materials, lighting, shapes, and ergonomics of the interior elements create a welcoming and attractive atmosphere inside the UNVI C26. In its assessment, the jury emphasized that it is the responsibility of the industry, operators, and manufacturers to provide more appealing public transport alternatives that can help reduce the use of private vehicles.

On the side panel, next to the front door, the route is projected, indicating the current and next stops. As soon as the doors open, you are welcomed into a lobby or lounge with pleasant, warm wall coverings and extremely atmospheric ceiling lighting. Moving into the passenger compartment, two light balloons shine overhead like chandeliers. The overall interior experience transforms a city bus journey into an experience that encourages the use of public transport.

Unvi designed the C26 as a concept bus adaptable to both low-floor and low-entry chassis from various manufacturers. The concept bus can also be adapted for various drive systems, from diesel to gas, electric and hydrogen.

Unvi is already working with chassis manufacturers to assess its integration into offers for operators in various European markets.
