VDL Bus Group will present the new right-hand-drive VDL Futura 3 at Euro Bus Expo 2026, taking place from 3 to 5 November at the NEC in Birmingham. The RHD VDL Futura 3 marks an important milestone for the UK and Irish coach markets.
The VDL Futura 3 now makes its first major appearance in right-hand-drive configuration. Since its market launch, the VDL Futura 3 has been delivered to customers across various countries in Europe. “We are proud to introduce the right-hand-drive VDL Futura 3 to the UK market,” says Marc van Doorn, Managing Director Coach of VDL Bus Group. "The VDL Futura 3 has been developed with future requirements in mind and is prepared for further technological developments, including alternative powertrains and future vehicle updates." According to the manufacturer the VDL Futura 3 uses 20% less fuel compared to the earlier model, through a combination of advanced vehicle technology, aerodynamic optimisation, intelligent weight reduction and a highly efficient drivetrain. This of course
lowers operating costs and reduces CO₂ emissions. The latest generation of ADAS assistance systems are on board and the driver has improved visibility. Furthermore VDL states that the Futura 3 offers an ergonomically optimised cockpit, improved seating position and intuitive controls that reduce fatigue during long journeys. Passengers should benefit from enhanced seating comfort, premium interior finishes, advanced ambient lighting and a refined climate control system. Besides the 12.9-metre right-hand-drive VDL Futura 3, VDL will also showcase at Euro Bus Expo the luxurious right-hand-drive Van Hool Astron with a DAF MX-13 engine and equipped with a camera monitor system and a comprehensive suite of advanced safety technologies.
