After some months of silence the VDL Group has stated it will continue the production of the Van Hool T-series, TDX double decker and the CX 45 for the American market. For the US and Canadian markets, VDL Van Hool continue to develop and supply coaches (single and double-deck), both diesel and electric powered, in close cooperation with distributor, ABC Companies.
VDL Van Hool has around 250 employees in working in the former Van Hool factory in Koningshooikt (Belgium) and around 1,300 employees in Skopje (Macedonia). VDL states on the website (www.vdlvan Hool.com) that "Van Hool's recognisable coaches stand for innovation, quality and design, and meet the high standards of our customers." The older Van Hool EX series are taken out of production, probably to do with the announcement a year ago that
VDL will be presenting a new Futura. The new T series, which Van Hool presented at Busworld Europe 2023, will include the T15 Acron, T16 Astron, T17 Acron and Astron. VDL Van Hool will also be producing the TDX25 Astromega, TDX21 Altano and TDX 27 Astromega double-deckers. By continuing these Van Hool series, VDL Van Hool is opting for a two-brand strategy, following the example of MAN-Neoplan and Mercedes-Benz-Setra.
