The Vietnamese bus and car manufacturer will introduce two vehicles, the EB 8 and EB 12. Both models meet EU regulations. The buses are equiped with lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery packs supplied by CATL and Gotion. Capacities of up to 422 kWh will provide a range of around 400 km, while charging with at up to 140 kW will take three hours.
The Vietnamees manufacturer VinFast intends to begin European operations in 2026. The move comes as Europe pursues emissions reduction targets, including a goal for 90 percent of new buses to be zero-emission by 2030, rising to 100 percent by 2035. The EB 12 is fully homologated according to UNECE and CE regulations. This model was specifically developed for the European market, taking into account local regulations and infrastructure—from dimensions and configuration to range and charging infrastructure—to ensure smooth market integration.
The buses will include driver-assist technologies such as blind spot detection, intelligent speed assistance, forward collision warning and drowsiness monitoring. Passenger facilities will include Wi-Fi, USB charging ports, infotainment systems and kneeling suspension for easier boarding. Madam Le Thi Thu Thuy, Chairwoman of VinFast, said: "Europe shares VinFast’s vision of a green and sustainable future, and the launch of our VinFast electric bus models at Busworld is a strong statement of VinFast’s long-term commitment to the
region. Beyond individual electric cars, we are building a comprehensive green transformation ecosystem to make electrified transport more accessible than ever." In Vietnam, VinFast has established a fully operational e-bus ecosystem, manufacturing, deploying, and maintaining buses for urban public transport networks. Production capacity is 1,500–2,000 electric buses per year, with CE-compliant manufacturing processes.
