A new premium coach is about to enter the European market: the Volvo B13R with a Marcopolo Paradiso G8 body. The new coach will initially focus on customers in southern Europe and the first orders have already been placed in France, Italy and Portugal.
The launch follows Volvo Buses’ strategic partnership with bus body manufacturer Marcopolo, aimed at strengthening its position in the European coach market. The new coach will be unveiled at next week’s FIAA (Feria Internacional del Autobús y del Autocar) international fair for buses and coaches in Madrid, Spain. "This partnership with Marcopolo further strengthens our offer to customers in Southern Europe," says Thomas Nylund, Head of
Europe at Volvo Buses. "Marcopolo is already a trusted partner in many markets around the world. Together, we can now offer a premium coach that combines Volvo's renowned chassis technology, fuel efficiency, and safety with Marcopolo's modern design, comfort, and coach-building expertise. This partnership gives us greater flexibility to meet the diverse needs of our customers." The new coach will become available in 4x2 and 6x2 configurations.
According to the two companies the first orders for the new coach have already been secured in France, Italy and Portugal. Deliveries to customers are expected to begin early 2027. In Italy and France, Volvo Buses will be fully responsible for marketing and selling the complete vehicle through its retail network. This includes full technical and after-sales support. In Spain and Portugal, Volvo Buses and Marcopolo will share the commercial responsibility. Further European markets may follow later. For Marcopolo the partnership with Volvo Buses marks its return to the European market.
