The Volvo electric bus features a smart Battery Management System that controls charging and discharging processes while continuously monitoring battery health and performance. It also ensures optimised battery function in any climate. The electric powertrain has 2x200 kW max output with 33,500 Nm max wheel torque. Gear changing is automatic and software-controlled. During gear shifting, the transmission program uses the electric motor to synchronize input and output shafts to speed up and optimize the comfort of the gear shift. The Volvo BZR Electric – CD is equipped with a Hill Start function for up to a 20% uphill gradient.
