Bus Driver Safety Seminar Visual

Public Transport Norway and Ruter, in cooperation with Busworld, invited the whole bus & coach industry to a comprehensive seminar on driver and traffic safety in Europe.

Bus & coach transportation is already the safest road transport means, but every accident, injury or casualty is still one too many. Many solutions already exist on the market, both in terms of reducing the risk of accidents, and reducing the consequences if an accident occurs. New and innovative technologies and safety measures are being developed by bus manufacturers as we speak, and were presented at Busworld Europe.

The seminar included the launch of a new academic research report on driver and traffic safety in European bus traffic prepared by The Institute of Transport Economics, with an overview of the current situation, systems and culture, as well as a catalogue of different measures and their estimated efficacy where available.
